1. The catalyst can only accelerate the thermodynamic reaction. When it is required to develop new chemical reaction catalysts, we must first analyze the thermodynamics of the reaction to see whether it is a thermodynamically feasible reaction.

2. The catalyst can only accelerate the reaction to equilibrium and cannot change the equilibrium position (equilibrium constant) of the reaction.

3. The catalyst has selectivity for the reaction. When the reaction may have more than one different direction, the catalyst only accelerates one of them, and the promotion of reaction rate and selectivity are unified.

4. Catalyst life. The catalyst can change the chemical reaction rate. Ideally, the catalyst is not changed by the reaction. However, in the actual reaction process, the catalyst will undergo some irreversible physical and chemical changes due to long-term heating and chemical action.
