Before applying polyurethane colorant, the surface to be coated must be clean, dry, flat, and free of grease, dust or other contaminants. Appropriate cleaning and sanding are usually required to improve the adhesion of the paint.
If polyurethane colorant needs to be diluted, the appropriate thinner recommended by the paint manufacturer must be used and the dilution ratio must be followed. The diluted paint needs to be fully stirred and mixed to ensure that the thinner and paint are fully and evenly dispersed.
Choose the appropriate tools, such as brushes, rollers or spray guns, according to the application method. Make sure the tools are clean and can apply the paint evenly to avoid uneven coating or blistering.
During application, ensure that the environment is well ventilated and avoid application under high temperature, high humidity or windy conditions to avoid affecting the drying and curing process of the paint.
Choose the appropriate coating technology and application method based on the characteristics of the paint and the application requirements. Usually including uniform application thickness, appropriate application speed and avoiding overlapping and retention problems.
After the paint is applied, sufficient time must be allowed for drying and curing. Determine the drying time and coating interval of each coat of paint according to the technical data sheet (TDS) provided by the paint manufacturer.
After construction is completed, clean the tools and equipment used in a timely manner, and perform maintenance and care of the coating according to the recommendations of the paint manufacturer to ensure the long-term stability of the coating performance and appearance.
